SPIKE App ships with new firmware for SPIKE Prime, which must be updated before the app can be used with a SPIKE Prime hub. It changes how the SPIKE Prime hub connects to the app. This should make the connection faster, and ensure that future firmware updates take less time.

SPIKE App version 3.2.4 improves the app in many ways, including, but not limited to, the following:

Changes in SPIKE App version 3.2.4

  • IMPROVEMENT Python early access

We are excited to be re-launching our Python coding feature for SPIKE App soon, and have added Python early access in this release. We have done this to allow users to see the new changes and improvements and to prepare in advance for the full launch.

Please note that Python is disabled by default (it can be enabled in SPIKE general settings menu). The Python Knowledge base is currently only available if your language is set to US English, but it will be available in all languages at full Python launch. The SPIKE Legacy App is still available and that has a Python Knowledge base for all languages.

To support the improved Python text editor, we have changed the iPad minimum required operating system from iOS 13 to iOS 14.

Please contact us if you have feedback on SPIKE App Python early access (Technical support - LEGO Education Support - Jira Service Management (atlassian.net)).
